The Aims of Duchal Nursery School

At Duchal Nursery School, all members of staff endeavour to provide a stable, caring, happy and stimulating environment where children are enabled to reach their full potential.

We aim to achieve this by;

- creating an environment where children feel secure and eager to learn.

- encouraging the social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual development of children.

- providing a broad, balanced, appropriate and stimulating curriculum, which includes activities

and experiences, geared to the individual child.

- working in partnership with parents/carers in an open and honest way.

- promoting equal opportunities for all children regardless of their race, religion, colour or

   personal circumstances.

- raising awareness of the multicultural nature of society by providing positive images of different

ethnic minorities and cultures - posters, food, toys, clothing and discussing different festivals.

developing and maintaining strong links with other agencies and professionals.

 - managing the nursery effectively with a dedicated team working towards providing a high quality service, using effective quality assurance procedures.

Non Denominational Policy of the Nursery

The nursery is non-denominational. We respect and welcome children and parents of all religions, faiths and beliefs.

Our Equal Opportunities Policy

Duchal Nursery School aims to demonstrate through its work that it positively values and respects children of all ethnic origins/racial groups, religions, cultures, linguistic backgrounds and abilities.  Provision takes into account the needs of children with special needs.  Children of both sexes are positively encouraged by staff to participate in all activities.

Snack Time

We are keen to promote healthy eating habits and children will be encouraged to choose from a selection of fresh fruit.  Milk is delivered to the Nursery each day and we encourage the children to drink this.  Water is available or if requested by parents as a suitable alternative.

You will be asked about any food allergies or any special dietary requirements you child may have.
