Another week has flown past bringing us definitively into the run up to Christmas . For those of you who may still be in a wee bit of denial about this - at least one house in Kilmacolm has its lights up (not any of ours I hasten to add) and Mrs Campbell made Christmas tree biscuits with the children on Wednesday so that makes it official!
The highlight of the week for the children was unquestionably our visit from Jackie who runs Little Down Dogs yoga. On Tuesday she ran a yoga session for us based around the story of the Gruffalo. The children were real stars and listened brilliantly, contorting themselves into mice, snakes, foxes and of course Gruffaloes. All finished off with a lavender eye mask and a relaxing pose on the floor under a blanket. The teachers were very envious of this part! Many thanks are due to Jackie for her input and we hope one day to arrange another visit.
Mrs Gheur attended a Book Bug training day in Glasgow this week as part of our ongoing committment to staff development. We are all looking forward to some animated readings of familiar stories as a result of this training and also to learning ourselves as her learning helps by example to improve our own practice and so enrich the experience the children have at story time.
