The children have greatly enjoyed their project on space – everyone has been very creative making rockets and space ships and an astronaut collage.

We celebrated the Chinese New Year tasting some Chinese food, using chopsticks and learning a few Mandarin phrases.

The children have enjoyed sessions playing various musical instruments including drums, tambourines, glocks, rainmakers and castanets. We have been experimenting with loud and soft sounds, rhythm and pitch. Great fun - you might have heard us from the park!

We also celebrated Burns night with our own Ceilidh - many reels and a few jigs and some solo dancing! This was followed by a supper of oatcakes with cheese and some shortbread. We even had some Burns poetry and singing from the teachers! The children looked fantastic in their kilts and tartan sashes.

With the snowy start to the new term everyone got wrapped up and headed out to enjoy the winter weather. We had a great time sledging, building snowmen and playing games in the snow and the hot chocolates back in the nursery were very popular on the chilly days!

The children have been enjoying their new project on space, learning all about the solar system and the planets spinning around the sun. We have been getting creative making space shuttles and rockets.
