Duchal Nursery School

Duchal Nursery School has provided an excellent pre school education to the children of Kilmacolm and the surrounding area for over 40 years. Established by a group of parents who had no nursery provision for their children in 1967, it continues as a parents co-operative, so it is run by the people who know what is best for their children - their parents.

Duchal Nursery School is a non profit making organisation and became a registered charity in 2006. We provide 26 places for children aged 3-5 and always have 4 members of staff on duty, giving an excellent staff/pupil ratio. The children come together daily during term time from 8.45am to 12noon.

	We provide education of the highest standard in a warm, caring, secure and stimulating environment. We foster a family atmosphere, encouraging children to help one another and, in particular, the older children are encouraged to help younger ones.
	Our state of the art facilities have a secure outdoor play area where the children have the opportunity to plant flowers and have supervised fun with plentiful playthings. Games and activities are rotated according to the current topic.
	The children have various outings during the course of the year. Greenock Sports centre offers specialist soft play equipment for children to use and enjoy. The new play park at Birkmyre is perfect for running around after nursery and there is a main outing organised once a year.
