Meet the Teachers

We are very lucky to have such a great team of dedicated and highly qualified teachers at Duchal.  They each bring their own personal attributes to all our activities and they really make our nursery a very special place. With many years of experience in early years, a cosmopolitan background and all with children of their own the team of staff provide a caring, nurturing environment for the children, and make Duchal Nursery an extra special place.

Here’s a little bit of background information on our wonderful teachers!

Head Teacher – Mrs Gheur

Mrs Gheur decided to fulfil a lifelong passion to teach in early years. She holds a post graduate degree in childhood practice SQA level 11 and has gained her HNC in Early Years and Childcare.

She has a love of literacy and enjoys being part of the Duchal nurturing team which she joined in 2016.

Mrs Grant

Mrs Grant graduated with an honours degree in English Literature. Following her four children attending Duchal she trained as a primary teacher. She is fully involved in the Duchal team which she joined in 2016.

Deputy Head - Mrs Kirsty Campbell

Mrs Campbell always knew she was going to be a teacher, even from a young age! She gained a BSc Hons in Physiology and Sports Science at Glasgow University, then attended Jordanhill gaining her post graduate in Primary Education. She’s been teaching for almost 20 years and has taught all stages across the primary sector, with a particular passion for early years. She loves working with children, watching them grow and develop through play. After becoming a mum to two wonderful boys she decided to take some time away from the classroom and it was during this time she was lucky enough to become part of the Duchal team and was appointed as Deputy Head in January 2025.

She loves being in the outdoors, exploring and investigating, and has a particular passion for science and technology.
